Annual Mock Examination

A complete examination rehearsal, run to College standard

Each year, Progressive Sports Medicine hosts a full scale mock examination for ACSEP registrars preparing to sit their final clinical examinations. Held five to six weeks before the real assessment, the day faithfully recreates the structure, timing and pressure of examination conditions across short case and viva voce stations.

Critically, the day is attended by actual College examiners. Registrars receive detailed, examiner level feedback on every station, giving them a clear and honest picture of where they stand and a focused plan for the final weeks of preparation.

It is a significant undertaking, and one we are extremely proud to deliver each year on behalf of the next generation of Sport and Exercise Medicine specialists.

  • Multiple examination rooms running short cases and viva stations in parallel
  • Current College examiners assessing and debriefing in person
  • Structured, station by station feedback for every candidate

Registrar Tutorials

Structured teaching across the specialist curriculum

We contribute directly to the education and training of future Sport and Exercise Medicine specialists through a regular program of registrar tutorials. Each session pairs an evidence based presentation with hands on clinical examination teaching, so registrars leave with both the knowledge and the practical skills the specialty demands.

Topics span the breadth of the curriculum, from regional musculoskeletal assessment of the knee, hip and shoulder through to sports cardiology, concussion, relative energy deficiency and athlete mental health, all delivered against the current consensus literature.

Clinical Training Supervision

One on one mentorship for senior trainees

As an accredited Clinical Training Supervisor for the Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians, we provide individual mentorship for senior trainees specialising in Sport and Exercise Medicine.

This is education at its most personal: case based discussion drawn from real consultations, supervised procedural and musculoskeletal ultrasound skill development, and honest, constructive feedback tailored to each trainee's stage of training and examination timeline.

In-house Education Evenings

A whole of team culture of learning

Teaching at Progressive Sports Medicine is not reserved for registrars. Our regular in-house education evenings bring the entire clinical team together to share clinical and research updates across disciplines.

Our Sport and Exercise Medicine physicians present on musculoskeletal ultrasound and procedural techniques, while our Exercise Physiology and Dietetics colleagues contribute their own expertise, ensuring that knowledge flows in every direction and that every patient benefits from the collective learning of the whole team.
